VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR SPHINX FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPEAL
15/03/2010 12:15
The Sphinx Foundation Scholarship Scheme is a major initiative by the Perth Modernian Society to support the School and its students. Its aim is to invite people who value the fine education provided by the School since 1911 to contribute to a Foundation to provide scholarships to students, whilst attending the School. The scholarships are to “Support the growth of individual students to their full academic, intellectual, social and physical potential”.
Progress made includes: (1) Legal work to define structure and establish ATO tax deductibility for donors; (2) Some donations have been received and two scholarships presented in December 2009; (3) A professional fundraising consultant was selected to guide the process and is working with us; (4) A small team is in place to work to launch and follow up potential donors.
A Scholarship Fundraising Convenor and Committee members are sought to work under the Council of the Society, with the guidance of the fundraising consultant, to: (1) take part in appropriate training to put the appeal into operation; (2) assist in preparation and distribution of appropriate promotional material for donations and bequests; (3) maintain impetus in promoting the Appeal; (4) follow up on potential donors alongside other team members.
If you can help or have ideas that would help the Appeal, please contact Barrie Baker by telephone (08) 9271-5184 or email Sphinx Foundation Scholarship Appeal. See also Sphinx Foundation Scholarships tab.
