SCHOLARSHIP FUND PROGRESS

As at February 2012, $165,000 had been donated or pledged towards the Sphinx Scholarships Appeal target of $490,000. Another $42,000 has been donated by old Modernians for subject areas scholarships (namely in Music and Creative Writing). That's a total of $207,000. The Sphinx Foundation was delighted to have sufficient funds from donations to the Sphinx Scholarships Appeal at the end of 2011 to be able to provide two Perth Modernian Society Scholarships and the McCusker Scholarship (each tenable for three years and valued at $3,180) for three deserving students entering Year 8 in 2012. The Sphinx Foundation also awarded $500 Bursaries or Amenities Fees bursaries to each of the remaining applicants, so in all 25 awards that will help these students' families cope financially.
